Introducing GEAR!

Introducing GEAR!

Welcome to GEAR and the first newsletter of the Georgia Enrollment Assistance Resource! GEAR is the new central hub of resources for Georgia’s enrollment assisters and community partners that work with people to educate them on their health and health coverage options. GEAR is full of handouts, interactive consumer tools, important assister updates, and other materials that will help enrollment assisters and community organizations better educate Georgians on health insurance enrollment, how to use their insurance, and more. Developed to help enrollment assisters and community stakeholders better educate and inform consumers, GEAR is a great resource to enhance the outreach, education, and enrollment efforts in Georgia. With Open Enrollment 3 just around the corner, GEAR can help us connect with each other and access the resources we need all in one place.

This newsletter will be an email digest of the current policy changes, Marketplace updates, and other relevant enrollment-related topics. Each week in GEAR you will find a highlight of GEAR and Georgia-specific resources, selected national resources, and a rundown of highlights from various enrollment related emails, including CMS, Enroll America, Families USA, and more!

National Resource Highlight – In the Loop
In the Loop provides a free and secure online community for enrollment assisters from the state of Georgia and across the country. This community shares expertise and enrollment advice with each other. Use the forum to share issues that you are having, troubleshooting, or general ideas. The In the Loop staff looks for enrollment trends that are then shared with federal policymakers so they can improve the enrollment process.

ICYMI – GHF’s releases “Get Insured. Stay Insured.” Toolkit

This toolkit is designed to walk people through each step of the enrollment process, from how to select the right plan for them, to how to find a doctor, and even things to keep in mind when filing taxes if they receive a subsidy. Each piece of the toolkit can be used individually based on where the person is in the enrollment process or it can be used as one comprehensive piece. If you have any questions about the toolkit or would like to receive hard copies (for pick up only in most cases) please contact Whitney Griggs.
