Caregiving and Caregivers

Caregivers Advisory Group

About the Program

GHF convenes a Caregivers Advisory Group made up of family caregivers who are caring for an adult family member. The Advisory Group is dedicated to raising awareness of and expanding outreach to family caregivers of all ages, including those providing care in both paid and unpaid, and formal and informal roles.

Caregiving is essential health work, and it comes at a cost. Caregivers face increased risks of anxiety, depression, and other health challenges. Women and people of color are disproportionately likely to take on caregiving roles, often with little recognition or support. Despite being vital to our health care systems, caregivers frequently lack access to the resources they need and deserve.

Through this program, GHF works to connect caregivers to essential services and advocacy opportunities, promote personal storytelling, and drive policy change that strengthens support for Georgia’s caregivers.

What We’re Working Toward

  • Connect caregivers to services: Linking caregivers across Georgia to essential support, community resources, and advocacy opportunities
  • Elevate caregiver stories: Amplifying personal experiences to humanize policy and build public understanding
  • Drive policy change: Advocating for expanded support services and stronger protections for Georgia’s caregiving workforce
