Our Priorities

Georgians for a Healthy Future (GHF) works to advance policies that promote health equity, improve access to care, and center the voices of Georgia’s health care consumers. Our 2025–2026 policy agenda focuses on four core areas where our advocacy, partnerships, and public education efforts can make the greatest impact.

Our current policy priorities aim to:

  • Reduce the number of uninsured children and adults
  • Close Georgia’s Medicaid coverage gap
  • Modernize Medicaid systems to improve efficiency and access
  • Ensure Georgia Access meets the needs of over 1.5 million enrollees
  • Protect consumers from rising premiums and high out-of-pocket costs
  • Strengthen Georgia’s behavioral health workforce and services
  • Establish a state certification for Community Health Workers

Getting Georgia Covered

Access to health insurance is a foundation for good health. It helps people get the care they need and protects them from overwhelming medical bills. GHF is working in communities and at the State Capitol to ensure that every Georgian has access to affordable, high-quality coverage.

Increasing Access to Care

Having coverage isn’t enough if you can’t use it. In rural communities, hospitals are closing, and across the state, people face hurdles to getting prescription medications and specialty care. GHF advocates for practical, consumer-centered policies to ensure timely access to care for all Georgians.

Enhancing Value for Health Care Consumers

Health care should be affordable and deliver real results. GHF promotes reforms that control costs, improve quality, and hold the system accountable. We work to ensure that Georgia’s health policies reflect the needs and voices of patients and families—not just the interests of powerful stakeholders.

Good health starts where we live, learn, work, and play. GHF champions investments in public health, prevention, and the social drivers of health—like housing, food access, and transportation. By addressing these upstream issues, we’re helping build a stronger, more resilient Georgia.
