On Wednesday, September 9, Georgians for a Healthy Future will host Celebration of Progress & Possibilities 2026 at City Winery Atlanta. Join us from approximately 7:00 to 9:00 PM for an evening of community, gratitude, and forward-thinking conversation about Georgia's health care future.

Georgia families are navigating one of the most consequential moments for health coverage in years. Through all of it, GHF has been here, and so have you. This year's celebration will honor that progress and go one step further.

Introducing

Pitch for Progress

A live pitch competition where Georgians present their boldest ideas for making health care more affordable and accessible in Georgia before a panel for discussion, feedback, and recognition. It will be energetic, collaborative, and unlike anything we have done before.

Meet the finalists.

Advocates and supporters from across Georgia submitted bold ideas for improving health care in our state. From those submissions, three finalists were selected to present live at the September 9 event before a panel of judges and a room full of advocates, partners, and community members who care deeply about Georgia's health future.

Be Well, Black Girl Initiative

Rest, prescribed as preventive care.

Rest Reimagined is a program that prescribes restorative care for Black women facing chronic stress and caregiver burden.

Student-led street medicine teams bringing health screenings and care directly to underserved Georgians, with a vision to scale statewide.

Dr. Natalie D. Hernandez-Green

Founding Executive Director, Center for Maternal Health Equity, Morehouse School of Medicine

Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology who leads community-driven research and policy work as Principal Investigator of one of 12 NIH-funded Maternal Health Research Centers of Excellence.

Dr. Sandra Elizabeth Ford

President and CEO, BFT Consulting

Previously served as Special Assistant to the President for Public Health and Science in the White House Domestic Policy Council, as well as District Health Director for DeKalb County for 16 years.

Dr. Harry J. Heiman

Clinical Professor and Director, Doctor of Public Health Program, Georgia State University

Brings expertise spanning health policy, health equity, and health system transformation.
