Children’s Health Coverage

All kids need reliable access to quality health care. Children need to see the doctor even when they are healthy: shots for school, well-child visits, and dental care are all important for kids to grow up healthy and strong. Their parents need coverage too to stay on track with regular screenings and preventive care, to access the health care system if they become sick, and to experience the financial peace of mind that comes with being covered.

Georgians for a Healthy Future works with partner organizations to support health policies that support kids. On this page, you can find many of our policy reports, resources for parents, and information about our advocacy work around child health.

Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids play a major role in ensuring Georgia's kids are covered. Learn more about our work on Medicaid and PeachCare.

The uninsured rate amoung kids in Georgia is 7.6% which is higher than the national averge of 6.0%. 88% of the uninsured Georgia kids are eligible for Medicaid or PeachCare but are not enrolled.
