Georgians for a Healthy Future Announces Finalists for Pitch for Progress Competition

ATLANTA, GA — Georgians across the state are being overcharged for the health care they need, and too many are left waiting on a system that puts profits ahead of people. Georgians for a Healthy Future (GHF) today announced the finalists selected for the Pitch for Progress live pitch competition at its annual Celebration of Progress & Possibilities 2026, to be held Wednesday, September 9, at City Winery Atlanta from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

The pitch competition features invited speakers who will each present one bold idea with the potential to improve health care affordability and access for Georgians, presenting to a panel of judges for discussion, feedback, and recognition before a community audience of advocates, partners, policymakers, and health care leaders.

This Year’s Finalists Are:

• Tanisha Corporal, Be Well, Black Girl Initiative: Presents Rest Reimagined, a program that prescribes restorative care, such as mindfulness, yoga, and healing circles, for Black women facing chronic stress, building the case for rest as a reimbursable preventive health benefit.
• Toby Terwilliger and Marshall Fleurant, Georgians for a Universal Health Program: Propose a publicly financed, single-payer health system covering medical, hospital, mental health, prescription, dental, vision, and preventive care for every Georgia resident, without premiums, deductibles, or copays.
• Hridith Sudev, H-STAT: Leads student-run street medicine teams that bring screenings and care directly to underserved Georgians across metro Atlanta, with a vision to scale into a statewide, publicly funded network of health workers.
