THANK YOU FOR CELEBRATING WITH US!

Earlier this month, GHF hosted our 15th anniversary celebration! We were thrilled to have so many long-time and new supporters, partners, and colleagues join us for an evening to reflect on our first 15 years and to energize ourselves for the next. Thank you to all who were able to attend! See photos from the event here in our FaceBook photo album.

We want to again congratulate our four awardees, all of whom have had outsized impacts on GHF’s past and present, and on the well-being of Georgia families. We feel confident that all four will continue to succeed in their efforts to build the healthy, equitable future that we all want for our state.

Finally, thank you to our wonderful volunteers and generous sponsors! You help to power GHF’s advocacy in many ways.

UNDERSTANDING GEORIGA PATHWAYS

Governor Kemp’s Pathways to Coverage program (aka “Pathways”), started July 1st. Pathways is a new Medicaid program for uninsured adults who are working at least part time and have low incomes. Uninsured Georgia adults (ages 19-64) with incomes at or below the poverty level can apply for Pathways Medicaid coverage if they meet stringent work (or school) requirements.

Here at GHF, we’ve been learning about the program in its first few months and helping others understand it too. Here are a few resources that we’ve developed that you may find helpful:

MEDICAID RENEWAL TIPS FROM GHF’S ENROLLMENT ASSISTERS

GHF’s enrollment assisters sound off with their tips to help families navigate Medicaid renewals!

Many Georgia families have struggled to renew their children’s or their own Medicaid coverage in the first few months of the Medicaid unwinding. Deanna and Angelica, enrollment assisters at GHF, have been helping families through the process and have these tips to share:

From Deanna and Angelica:

  1. You can renew your Medicaid benefits online, by mail, by phone or in person.
    • Visit Georgia Gateway to renew online.
    • You can speak with someone about your renewal by calling the Georgia Call Center at 877-423-4746 (TTY: 1800-255-0556)
    • You can call to request an application be mailed to you or download the application online at https://medicaid.georgia.gov/how-apply. Mail the completed form to your local Division of Family and Children’s Services (DFCS) office.
    • Contact your local DFCS department to schedule an in-person visit. Visit https://dfcs.georgia.gov/locations to locate your local office for telephone number and office hours.
  2. How to access your gateway account.
    • New Gateway Users
      1. Click on “Create an Account”
      2. Follow the prompts to put in your personal information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
      3. Create a User ID and password. (Keep up with this information for access to your account)
      4. Select 3 security questions and fill in the answers. (Ex: What’s your favorite holiday or favorite food?)
      5. Check the user acceptance agreement and click “Create an Account.”
    • Previous Users
      1. Click on “Manage My Account/Login.”
      2. Log into your account with your Gateway user ID and password.
  3. How to submit requested documentation.
    • The fastest way to submit documentation is by uploading in the gateway portal.
    • You can mail, fax or bring hard copies of your paperwork to the local Division of Family and Children’s Services office. Fax numbers can be located on your verification checklist notice.

Still need some assistance? Deanna and Angelica are available to answer your questions and help you with Medicaid or ACA coverage:
