Georgians for a Healthy Future and the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse are teaming up to launch a new public health advocacy campaign — Somebody finally asked me! — to prevent addiction and its harmful effects among Georgia’s youth, and we want you to be a part of it. Please join us at the beautiful and modern Ansley Park home of Iris & Bruce Feinberg (recently featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine!) on the evening of October 29th to learn more about this new campaign and its aims, to meet the experts, advocates, and community partners involved in getting it off the ground, and to preview our new campaign materials and public health messaging.

This education and advocacy campaign is in partnership with Community Catalyst and supported by a grant from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, alongside similar initiatives in Wisconsin, Ohio, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. As a national funder making a multi-year financial commitment in Georgia, the Hilton Foundation also requires a local commitment. We have been challenged to raise $30,000 in Georgia to help support this work—a big opportunity to leverage the national dollars coming into Georgia through the Hilton Foundation. We hope that, after hearing about this project, you will want to support it with a donation that is meaningful for you and to become involved as a voice for a healthy future. We welcome your input, ideas, and participation to maximize the impact of this effort in Georgia. There is no required minimum donation or ticket price associated with this event, but we sincerely hope you will be motivated to support this campaign after learning more about it.

Speakers included Jay Neil, Executive Director, Governor’s Office of Transition, Support and Re-entry; Courtney Wright, Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist; and Alice Dembner Project Director, Substance Use Disorders Project, Community Catalyst.
