“The cuts are very worrying,” says Laura Colbert with Georgians for a Healthy Future. “Aside from the possibility of Georgia having to cut services or raise taxes to pay for these services, there could be a difference in the quality of services that people end up receiving.”
“This will be devastating for Georgia children, for Georgia families, for Georgia seniors,” said Cindy Zeldin, director of Georgians for a Healthy Future, a patient advocacy group. “It’s really critical that this be stopped or dramatically changed in the Senate.”
Cindy Zeldin of Georgians for a Healthy Future, which is supportive of the ACA, said the GOP proposal would have “a devastating effect’’ on many Georgians, including children with disabilities, people who rely on Medicaid services, and those with health conditions.
Health insurance navigators play a vital role by educating consumers, increasing health insurance literacy, and facilitating enrollment, said Cindy Zeldin of Georgians for a Healthy Future.
“The American Health Care Act would have caused more than half a million Georgians to lose their coverage entirely while doing nothing to improve affordability or quality of care.”
“This has been moving at lightning speed, and it makes really big changes to our healthcare system,” said Cindy Zeldin, executive director of Georgians for a Healthy Future.
According to Cindy Zeldin, with healthcare consumer advocacy group Georgians for a Healthy Future, one of the biggest impacts this state would feel is from a major shift in the way Medicaid works.
“It’s very likely that many Georgians who have coverage today will no longer be able to afford it under this plan and will lose coverage,” said Cindy Zeldin, executive director of Georgians for a Healthy Future, a consumer advocacy group.
But Cindy Zeldin from Georgians for a Healthy Future doesn’t think that tax credits will be as effective in terms of helping people buy insurance. She’s doubtful a promise from President Trump and some republicans to offer better coverage to more people can be achieved.
