Consumer Reps explore discrimination & bias across insurance products in new report to Nat’l Assoc. of Insurance Commissioners

Columbus, OH (August 16, 2021) – A report commissioned by the consumer representatives to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) finds that disparities and bias are common challenges that consumers face across insurance products. The report summarizes findings from a survey of consumer-serving non-profit organizations across the U.S. about challenges faced by consumers in the insurance sector.

Last states to expand Medicaid Unite to Urge Congress to Guarantee Access to Affordable, Quality Health Care

After years of inaction from state legislatures, advocacy organizations from the remaining non-expansion states have united to urge Congress to guarantee access to affordable health care for over 2 million Americans in the coverage gap. 

Over 200 advocacy organizations from the 12 non-expansion states have signed onto a letter pleading Congress to bypass resistant state legislatures and provide coverage during the worst pandemic in modern history.

“State leaders in Georgia and 11 other states continue to block the path to Medicaid expansion despite additional federal incentives, upholding deeply politicized tensions over the will of their constituents while exacerbating health inequities in our communities,” said Laura Colbert, Executive Director of Georgians for a Healthy Future.
